Is the exterior of my fence on the painting schedule for this year?

While homeowner fencing maintenance is the responsibility of the homeowners, the PNRA occaisonally supplements painting of the exterior of high-traffic high-visibility fencing Please be reminded that all fencing within the Parkland must be painted Cape Cod Grey as specified on the Fencing Specifications under Architectural Guidelines on this website.

Why are we being charged GST on our HOA fees?

Under the GST Excise Act, Residential Condominium Corporations are exempted from collecting and remitting GST. For Commercial Condominiums and Home Owners Associations, there is no exemption. Other than “small suppliers” with revenues under $50,000. Once your revenues exceed $50,000 you are deemed to be registered for GST.

Can I opt out of the PNRA?

You can not. The PNRA fees are registered as an encumbrance against the title of your property. If you do not pay the fees, your invoice will be sent to a lawyer for collections. The costs of collections are added to the original annual fee, and these costs are substantially more than the original fees. Unpaid fees will continue to accumulate and architectural non-compliance will be disclosed to any purchaser if you place your home for sale.

What do my PNRA fees pay for?

Your annual PNRA fee pays for the following amenities and services, which are governed by volunteer Parkland resident Board members.

1) Maintenance of the 2 PNRA owned pocket parks 2) Annual flower pots & planting 3) Park amenities including 12 dog bag stands & deer statues 4) 11 water fountains in our storm water collection facilities 5) winter tree lighting 6) Enhanced landscaping maintenance not covered by the City's park maintenance contract 7) Architectural control monitoring and compliance

How do I pay my fees?

There are a two ways to pay this fee.

  1. You can pay online with using the secure payment service of through the new CondoCafe / RentCafe portal for the PNRA.

  2. You can send a cheque or money order to the address listed on the invoice.

Why is there a Condo Cafe / Rent Cafe service fee added to what I owe?

The service fee is needed to cover the amount that is paid to CondoCafe / RentCafe by the PNRA for using this online service. It is no different than purchasing a stamp that gets your payment physically delivered. CondoCafe/RentCafeis simply an electronic method doing the same thing, albeit much more conveniently.

I forgot to pay my PNRA fees. Can I still pay without going through the lawyer?

If you have received a letter from the Law office representing the PNRA in regards to your late payment and collections. You will have to pay your fees directly to the Law office. The letter from the Law office should provide you with address and contact information for further details please contact them.

Selling my house or condo, whom should I inform about the PNRA, its services and annual fee?

How do I get my Landscaping Deposit back?

The builder of your home holds the deposit and handles all transactions in regards to the landscaping that has to be completed with a new home.

Are solar panels permitted?

While the PNRA has no say on solar panels, there are guidelines and permits required from the City of Edmonton. What are the Architectural Guidelines within Parkland?

I need to replace my roof shingles and I’m not sure what type is approved?

The Architectural Guidelines specifies that there are several approved shingles that a homeowner can choose from. An excerpt from Section 2.8 of the Guidelines states - "All roofs are to be IKO Renaissance, XL Series, in the colour of Taupe Slate or Chateau Series in the colour Weatherwood." The PNRA recognizes that some may no longer be available and that the following shingles are also approved: Please see the Document > Roofing section of the website for a list of approved shingles.

We have confirmed there is availability with several roofing suppliers in the City. Any other substitutions would require formal PNRA Board approval.

What is the stain colour for Fences in Parkland and where can it be purchased?

The stain colour is Cape Cod Grey and details of this color are found under the fencing section under General Documents on this website.

What do I do if I am non-compliant with the architectural guidelines?

Given the results of the all resident vote held in the summer of 2015, the guidelines must still be followed and will be enforced by the association. The Board has no authority to change the guidelines (at this time) nor do we have the authority to forgive any non-compliant issues. Where do I report Graffiti?

The City of Edmonton has a program to help with removing Graffiti. Please contact 311.

What do I do if people are not picking up after their dogs?

The parks within the parkland area are public property and bylaws infractions are dealt with through the city. Please contact the City of Edmonton by calling 311.

Where is the nearest off leash area?

The City of Edmonton website provides maps of all off leash areas. The one closest to Parkland is in the Callingwood area.

Does the PNRA own any land in Parkland?

The PNRA owns two small parcels of land within the Parkland area, with one located at Goodwin Gate & the other on Glastonbury Blvd. These lands are pretty small and only have enough space for some benches, trees and shrubs.

Who do I contact if I have a complaint or concern about common property?

If your concern is in regards to landscaping. The common areas are maintained by the City of Edmonton, with some additional maintenance paid for by the PNRA if needed.

If your complaint is in regards to snow removal. The roads are cleared by the City of Edmonton.
